Analizing the most eco-friendly cities classification, you can see the Italy is still divided in two parts (source: “Sustainable mobility in Italy: investigation on the 50 most important cities”). While North Italy cities are really devoted to the purpose, South Italy ones are among the worst.
What about Sicily? Apart from Palermo, car-sharing and bike-sharing are quite unknown in the island. Palermo and Napoli are the only Southern cities provided with car-sharing and, in the near future, bike-sharing. Mobile and Web app are also important to spead the Sustainable Mobility, but unfortunately, only Palermo, Catania and Messina offer such services.
The life quality in our cities is deeply connected with our approach towards new eco-friendly technologies, that need to be taken in consideration as soon as possible.
